Who operates TutorClick?

TutorClick is operated by Rob Dhasi. Contact support@tutorclick.ca with privacy, account recovery, correction, or deletion requests.

Accounts and parent consent

We collect an email address, age range, account status, signup and activity dates, and a securely hashed PIN. We do not store readable PINs. We do not ask for a full date of birth. Students aged 13 and older can create their own account with a privacy acknowledgement. For students under 13 we also collect a parent/guardian email and consent declaration. A parent or guardian must complete signup for a student under 13, and that account remains pending until we confirm consent manually. Email addresses are not automatically verified during beta.

Lessons and uploads

Your questions, AI explanations, uploaded worksheet images, current step, answers, and step discussions are saved under your account so you can resume. They are available for 90 days after the most recent save. After that they are inaccessible and are removed during routine cleanup when the app is used; removal may not be immediate. Rename or delete lessons in My lessons. Deleting a lesson removes its saved discussion and uploaded worksheet from active storage. Avoid uploading names, school IDs, addresses, health information, or other sensitive information. Anyone with your email and PIN, or your remembered device, can access your saved work.

AI and service providers

Lesson questions, relevant saved conversation, worksheets, and follow-up discussions are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. Text selected for narration is sent to OpenAI for voice generation. API requests use store:false where supported; this does not promise zero provider retention. OpenAI’s own API terms and data policies apply. The website, database, and file storage use the hosting provider’s infrastructure, including Cloudflare. These providers may process data outside Canada. We do not use the site to sell student data or display targeted advertising.

Usage and feedback

The owner dashboard shows account contact details, age range, consent and account status, activity dates, request counts, recorded AI tokens, and estimated costs. Feedback is linked to your account so we can improve the tutor. Full lesson conversations and worksheets are not exposed in the owner dashboard. Operators may need limited technical access to stored data for support or security. Usage and feedback records are retained during beta unless you request deletion; access logs may be kept by service providers under their own policies.

Cookies and security

We use a secure, HTTP-only sign-in cookie for eight hours, or up to 30 days if you choose Remember this device. Preferences such as voice and speed may be saved in browser storage. Four-digit PINs have a small number of possibilities; we hash them and limit failed attempts. Sign out on shared devices. Contact support if someone may have your PIN. Owner-issued temporary PINs must be changed before lessons can be accessed.

Your choices

You can view, resume, rename, or delete your own lessons, change your PIN, and sign out. Email support to request account closure, access, correction, or deletion of associated data. We may confirm identity before acting on a request. Parents or guardians can contact us about a child’s account. We do not send automatic recovery emails yet.

Free beta and future plans

TutorClick is currently free while we test and improve it. If paid plans are introduced, we’ll notify you before you choose whether to subscribe. You won’t be charged automatically. Material policy changes will be communicated before applying new uses of personal information.

Learning limitations

AI can make mistakes. Check important answers with your teacher or textbook. This is a learning tool, and it is not intended for medical, legal, or other professional advice.
